The Sidamo region in Southern Ethiopia is known worldwide as the producer of some of the finest coffees anywhere due to its high elevation at well over 2,000 meters. Since the coffee plant originated in Ethiopia, there are many heirloom varietals growing around the country, producing a variety of distinct profiles and flavors. This coffee is dry prepared where the cherry fruit is dried on the coffee bean itself. This allows the bean more time to interact with the natural sugars from the cherry, delivering an almost wine-like and fruit flavor. It’s no surprise then that this is another Cup of Excellence Award winner.
